Weight distribution hitches when adjusted properly transfer hitch weight to the truck's front and rear axle and the trailer axles. If adjusted correctly and the truck drops 2" in the rear so should the front.
Back in the day Reese had a interesting ad showing what there hitch could do. They used a Olds Toronado and hooked up to a tandem axle boat trailer with boat and a travel trailer then took the back wheels off the car. The Toronado was front wheel drive. They would have these as display at camper shows showing the benefits of there hitch.

The above not only shows the car with travel trailer but explains the equalizing principle. Interesting read.
