Bought a new CF335SS in February of this year. While doing a camera install I noticed that there was no way to manually actuate the front jacks. There is a hole inside the front storage compartment to the motor shaft but not thru the outside of the trailer. It's impossible to get the manual "tool" to the motor shaft. My dealer has been waiting on a cover for the hole that needs to be drilled thru the outside for over a month.
Last weekend after checking the rest of the jacks and slides, found that there is no access point to manually open and close the bedroom slideout.
Has anyone else had these issues? If so what were the fixes? Anything mechanical can and eventually will stop working.
Overall, we love this trailer. Did have a water leak at the rear window that required the dealer to install a new one. This was done relatively quickly. Other than that, no problems.

I know there is no manual way to close the bedroom slide. Mine failed to close the first time I used the unit a few weeks ago. I called the dealer and he advised me there was nothing I could do myself to get the slide to retract and they would have to send someone out to diagnose the problem when they could. I decided not to wait and was lucky to find loose wires in the bulkhead under the bed. Once these were fixed it worked fine. So, in answer to your question, I was told there was nothing that could be done if this slide won't work. As for the access point for the jack handle, I was lucky enough to have one when I bought the unit. Hope this helps some.

John,
Thanks for your reply. It appears that the front jack access point was an oversight on my unit. I intend to push my dealer and then Crossroads, if necessary, to come up with a fix for the bedroom slide. This is something that they should be responsible for. I'll try and let you know what happens.

I have never checked it out, but I thought you could manually retract the bed slide from under the bed, by removing the board that covers the slide motor-- I guess I just assumed there was some type of crank under there.

They may have changed them since 07 but with ours you remove the wood panel under the bed that goes over the slide mechanism and you can retract it with a socket (don't remember the size)and ratchet. Might be worth a look to see.

I agree with Hunter11. Both of our cruisers have had the cover that you could remove and then use a socket and rachet. Similar to how the other slides work. I am surprised at how many dealers appear to not have basic knowledge of the units they are selling. We are seeing more and more of these types of questions on the forums.

Thanks to all for your replies. Looks like the bedroom slide will be no problem at all. It's amazing how quickly the question was answered here.

Only way to manually retract bed slide with new mechanism...
I was getting work done on my trailer at the factory and while talking with the tech I found out that the new slide mechanisms on the bed slide have two motors to move the slide. If you look at the slide ends you'll see the aluminum pieces with the fancy grooves for the motor gears. The tech said that if the motors get out of synch or if one motor fails, the room will jam. There is no way to manually retract the room other than removing the trim that covers the motors and mechanisms on both ends and disengaging the gears then pushing the slide back in.
How to bypass the motors:

That seems like it would be a really pain in the seat meat to do.

So far from what I have read and heard I am not to impressed with the Schwintek slide system. Not sure why Crossroads went with it other than cost, maybe?

I guess it takes out all the slide mechanism from under the bed and gives you all the space for storage.

I like the old setup. Single motor, single actuator, nothing exposed to the weather. No issues with rain water getting past the seals on the gear tracks. Loss of space under the bed is not that big of a deal. JMHO.
