Lithium battery upgrade issues? 2021 zinger trailer

Hi

I have a 2021 crossroads zinger zr18rk

I am thinking of upgrading to a 100 ah self heating renogy brand battery. (drop in one battery)

I am wondering if anyone had some issues and thoughts doing the upgrade without any other modifications.

I am aware that the existing power management system will only charge to abut 80% which is no issue for me, since I have a renogy solar panel with controller with lithium option that will be connected straight to the battery terminal when parked.

And by getting a battery with self heating I can charge in colder weather

Third issue I am aware of is that I can't use the charge level checker in the trailer, I will get a blue tooth plug in to see the charge percentage on my phone

Thanks

Chris

First off sorry so long for reply....
And to make it short and sweet, you cant just do a drop in replacement... I see you already know this 80% issue. Save your money and get a charger and a proper battery level indicator.
More damage is done to lithium by not starting out right. That extra 20% of charge is huge when your heating batteries.

Victron Energy monitor is about the best but also comes with big price tag.

I think there is an upgrade you can do to the trailer's power converter to make it compatible to lithium batteries.

Yes, there are many different upgrades for a converter. But be prepared, most are bare minimum requirements.
Be very careful and looking into charging profiles and compare them to the batteries you select. Make sure they match. Lithium can be very beneficial. But only if you get the lifespan.

I went with Victron Energy Inverter/Charger. They are completely programmable. Coupled with the battery meter, its almost infallible. Controls the charge rates and perfectly looks after the batteries.
Definitely more expensive than most brands. But worth the peace of mind.
