Would like to store my CF28rl in a pole barn when i get it home but the door entrance is only 11'6" & the camper is 11'8" with air conditioner,Does anybody know if that's the exact height? What do you need to do to lower the ac?Or does it come out from the top?To much trouble? Thanks Edited by: campsurveyor

You might gain a little clearance by removing the shroud. The AC is only held on by 4 bolts, if you were inclined to do so you could remove it for storage reasons. My only concern would be getting the AC to reseal correctly.

If you are only slightly tall, might consider lowering air pressure in the tires to roll it in. Reinflate once in.

They claimed our 5er was 11' 8" and that is just what it measures. I have a 12 ft. door. When we were looking for a unit that was one of the requirements----it had to fit through my door.
We had a HH a few years ago and I fought it tooth and nail trying to make it fit. Finally ended up renting storage for the off season. If you do try and make it fit, make sure you're not backing up hill to get it in. That will raise the rear more. Also remember, when and if you get it in there, you still have raise it up MORE to get out from under it.

If its a pole barn without concrete floor, you can have it dugout a little.Good luck. Also if you had to,removing the A/C isn't a big deal. The seal is just a rubber square and the four bolts remove it and most just have a plug to disconnect the power.

All very true, but you'd still have to seal the hole some way to keep the dust/dirt and critters out of it.
I like the idea of digging out the dirt if no other options fit.

I found my 2010 26RK Cruiser was actually 3 inches shorter than the published height. I had the dealer help me measure the trailer in his doorway when I took delivery. I was able to fit it in my 11'10' doorway with an inch to spare. If you do lower air pressue would not recommend raising pressure after inside. You may forget next spring and then you will find out how the AC is attached.

I would not leave tires under inflated during a long storage period. To much stress on side wall. Tire manufacturers recommend normal pressure. If you inflate them back to normal pressure put a big sign on the front of trailer to lower tire pressure before moving trailer out of the building. JMHO.

the shroud is held on by exterior screws on the case. On the Dometic it's about an inch if you remove the shroud.
