Connecting BBQ to connection by front door

We have a 2013 Cruiser Patriot SS335 that has a propane quick release valve near the front door to be used with a portable BBQ. We have a hose, but the connector on one end goes into a propane tank and the other into the BBQ...it does not fit into the connection by the front door. Does anyone know where I can find the piece that would fit into the trailer connection so that I can use the hose that I already have? Thanks.

Any propane place should be able to help you with the right quick release connection.

Also most rv supply stores will have them, but take lots of $$, they don't give them away.

You're going to hear about "high pressure" and "low pressure" in the propane system. They are speaking about before, and after, the regulator. On your TT, the propane hits a regulator right at the tanks, so the whole TT distribution system is "low pressure."
You have to find a grill that works with low pressure. The hose you have probably connects straight to the LP bottle, and thus is high pressure. The regulator is commonly at the grill side.
You can't connect the low pressure supply to the inlet of a second regulator. You have to find a way to connect the low pressure supply straight to the grill. If the only controller you have to adjust the flame on the grill is the knob on the regulator, it won't work. The types that do work, with some plumbing, have flame controls that are separate from the regulator.
I didn't like always being so close to the TT. I went with a stand-alone grill, with it's own tank. Later, I forsook that, and now just carry a small Weber with charcoals!

I have just been wrangling around with the quick connect on the back of my unit. I found one at camping world that didn't fit. No one else even had one close, even the propane company.

So I bought a propane tee on Amazon for @ $25 and it works great. It has the exact same brand plastic knob as the connectors on the unit and the brass seems to be standard quality. Just connect it between one tank and the hose going to that tank and you have gas to the inside and an exterior hook up. Just close all valves before you hook it up and open them slowly after so you don't set off the emergency shut off in one of the connectors. Now I can use any grill or fire pit without tinkering with the fittings and its handier than the rear bumper hookup since I don't have a bumper grill.

The one I bought is Barbour International Bayou Classic Propane Y-Splitter 7633

You need to post what kind of grill you have. You have to take the regulator off of the grill and attach the hose there and the fittings are different on different grills.

This is what I did also & have a 20-25' hose so I set my grill (Weber Q) about anywhere I want.

They must have given you the wrong fitting as they did to me. It was the type for a air fitting and is slightly thicker. I took mine to a gas fitting supplier and he replaced the fitting. He did not charge me as he said it was not worth the paper work. Good luck.
