We are proud owners of a 2013 cruiser cf27rkx, but have two questions. First the panel indicator light for the hot water heater doesn't light, took panel off no power to lamp. Second question, using electric for hot water the pressure relief discharges water at the end of the heating cycle produce exstreamly hot water is there a way to turn this down?

Any help would be apperciated!

Can't answer your first question other then it's a warranty issue for your dealer.
On the hot water, sometimes the pressure relief will lift and discharge/dribble water out if the air hasn't been completely purged out of the system. Mine does the same thing on occasion. I don't think there is any adjustment on the water heater for temperature.

By the way---congratulations on your rig. Welcome aboard.

The light does not come on, only if you have problems. The water is extremely hot and they do make a regulator for it but we like it like that, I think there was a rep at the Rally from Atwood and he said they do make a temp adjuster for it; we just add more cold to it if we have to....good luck and happy camping.

Spent the better part of a morning one time trying to figure out why the red light did not come on when the switch was on. Well, it only comes on if the flame goes out or some other similar problem that requires you to inspect your water tank.

The relief valves weep when the water gets hot and expands.

There are 2 lights for the DSI water heater...everyone seems to assume your actual switch does light up when you turn it on. Did the WH light?

If you want to see if the "fault" light comes on, turn off propane and turn on gas WH. I forgot to open tank...light came on due to a failure on lighting. It will come on after 3 (I think) attempts to light.

Occasionally, whether gas or elec., water may discharge from PRV. Sometimes, ours drips when WH shuts off after heating.

(P.S. I also am a "Fasteddy").

Many of us haveinitially wondered why that light does not come on when we use the WH. all of the above info is good. Another example of the importance of these forums and the folks who share experience. When you initially fill the WH be sure to use the pressure relief valve to evacuate air. When it puts out water it is full. Most important when using the WH on electric. Happy Trails Welcome.

On our 2010 cruiser there are two switches, one for Lp operation and one for electric operation. Which ever switch is turned on lites up. There is a small fault lite between the two switches if WH fails to operate when on Lp that lites up.
