Yes you can retract awning with one end lower. Been doing it since I bought my Patriot last fall.

I have never done that. I figure it is best to square it up before retraction and release pressure on the twist lock that secures it in the lower position. JMO.

I would think that would have the tendency to let it roll up kitty wampus.

It rolls up smooth and square. No issues whatsoever.

I also roll mine up no matter how it is set or what angle. The manual actually says it is okay. I thought the same thing as others but I leave it angled all the time now, that way I don't forget next time I put it out. FWIW

The AC fan speed should be set on Auto or the fan will run with the furnace.
