We are purchansing a cruiser. Is it worth the extra thousands of dollars for the "painted exterior & rear cap" or should we just get the "high gloss gel glass with rear fiberglass cap" instead?

Flavia -- If I am correct it costs about $4,000.00 for the paint.
So I guess it really depends on your pocket book, and how important it is to you to have the extra design with the paint.

Good luck with the new camper. Hope you have as much fun with it as I have with mine. Be safe and ENJOY.

Just got a Patriot with the paint job last fall. Hopefully it will be easier to clean and maintain. (as long as it doesn't flake at places.) I do love the paint scheme.
Good luck with whatever exterior you get on your camper.

I prefer the white gel coat exterior. There have been reports on this forum about problems with the paint peeling on some units. Also the darker colored units build up more heat load and require more a/c cooling.

GJE, I see you live in Louisiana. That dark colored paint is going to make your unit muchwarmer inside the unit in the Summer compared to a white one with the gel coat sides. I do like full body paint units but once you are out of warranty if the paint starts to peel, crack, fadeor just gets scratched it is on your dime to get it repaired and that won't be cheap.

Get the high gloss - easy to maintain - don't have to worry about fading and peeling. Better with a light colored exterior.

We love the full body paint, not the price...but living in the LA sun does enough damage on the decals, Im worried what it would do to the paint in a few years...

What does it do to your car? Probably the same results. A good coat of Rejex polymer finish will help any paint job. It protects surface from UV rays.

Got full body paint on ours and love the look. No extra cost as it was in stock inventory and negotiated well. We did pay extra for a full paint protection package with 5 year warranty so I'll see how it goes. Guaranteed no fade and no black streaks or staining.
