We are taking our 2005 Ck27RL for a trip this October into the North East. Anyone have any suggestions or recommendations regarding cold weather ops with the Cruiser?

Mike

we run a small electic heater during the day. Make sure you have some venting so the moisture doesn't build up. Watch for freeze warnings so disconnect the water, etc. We camped in Montana in the mountains in November and made it through a two day blizzard with only aminor water problem. Got thawed out the day after and we were back in business.

When we have been in overnite temps down in the low 20's I will fill the fresh water tank and disconnect my city hose and run off my holding tank and pump. I also use an electric heater in the bedroom and the living area to minimize the furnace, keep the bathroom vent and kitchen window open a little to minimize condensation. Have cold weather camped down to overnite temps of 13 with no problems.

Mike even Long Island is north east. You may want to check on if they are open after the 15th. We go to Maine on the 1st of Oct for the fair and most campsites close on the 15th.

If you have shore power, the low temps shouldn't be a problem.

Ditto to the foregoing advice. I camp in Michigan through the end of October. Some the weather gets pretty cold. I really don't use the ceramic heater but it sure wouldn't hurt. Ventilation is important ... to let condensation out and to keep the heat moving.

I wouldn't worry too much if the temps get in the 20s. I've woken up many times to a frozen water hose to the city water connection. Normally thaws by mid morning with no damage to the plumbing system. Call me lazy

Enjoy the beautiful fall weather, empty campgrounds and peace and quiet. My favorite time of year to camp.

We have camped in the 20's. I have foam sleeve insulation from Loweson my water hose that I use year round to keep water from gertting heated in the sun as well. I looked into a electric heat tape but couldn't find anything I liked. When camping below freezing with full hookup, we leave the bathroom water drip. With the insulated water hose, it never freezes up. We use a ceramic or oil filled heater and sleep with electric blankets. Have had some of the most restful nights ever.

I saw an ad somewhere for a heated water hose. I'll see if I can find it. Jim

I installed a 120V wall plug and ran a wire with the male plug to the outside. Actually it stores in the same area as my 30 amp. I can the use a heavy extension cord and plug it into the 20amp on the outside post. I use that for my heater to plug into. Jim

Pertaining to the post about leaving the water drip overnight - make sure you have your valves open, or you will wake up to a wet floor. (experience talking here).
