Hello, we are having issues with what we think is the converter. We stay at a permanent camping site and we are plugged in at all times so we don't need to use the battery but the thermostat will only run off the battery, if we disconnect the battery it will turn off the a/c. any ideas?

You should have a good battery connected at all times. It will be much better for the converter. Even tho you are connected to ac at all times, you should still have a battery in place.

Pop thermo off and see if there is a small round battery in it.
