indoor speaker
I picked up a 2008 Zinger 25RKS a couple days ago. Got it home and started playing around and noticed one of the indoor speakers for the stereo wasn't working. Since one is out thought I might upgrade both but cant figure out how to get the cover off. Anyone out there removed these speakers before and if so how did ya get them out. Any suggestions on a upgraded replacement speaker?

I had to Pry mine off. They fit tight. You can try twisting it. If your going to replace then if it does break a tab or something your not out anything.

Got the speaker grills off. Was a little paranoid about prying around on the covers because I noticed one was cracked on the side. But all went well.
Thanks for the reply

I just replaced my speakers with some Infinity 6.5"from Crutchfield. To get the original ones out the grill turned about 1/4 turn and came off. Hope this helps.

Infinity Reference 6502ix. The adviser at crutchfield said that they would perform well because they are so efficient at 92 db which is desirable since the Jensen entertainment center puts out relatively low power.

Thanks for posting. I've actually been looking at the 6032cf on Amazon. Looks like the previous model, so it runs about 1/2 the price. I'm also replacing the outside speakers, so budget is tight.
hmm..
Decisions decisions...

Is it ok to them in the "outdoor" location? I always want better sound, but was thinking that special marine type might be needed. Or maybe they are covered well enough?

Unfortunately not. You're right. You need marine grade waterproof speakers for the outside.

What have you found the the outside? Will any just plug right in? I would like to do this too but don't want to have to do any mods, I hate opening anything up on the exterior.

The outside speakers have not been a priority for us. We stay at more crowded campgrounds, so to be polite, we don't really crank up the outside speakers anyway.
Your going to pay more for the same quality as indoor speakers.
You can drop in speakers, yes. You need to watch the mounting depth though. Maybe call CR customer service to ask how much depth you have to work with out there.

At least for me, it's more about the quality and clarity of the sound as opposed to volume.
