Newbie 272BH Question

We just bought our first trailer, and before picking it up next week I wanted to get on buying some of the needed things.

I am having trouble finding out exactly what our power needs will be, and as a result what size generator we will need. I'm pretty sure it is standard across this line, but we have both indoor and outdoor refrigerators. Plus we have the 15k A/C unit in place of the standard 13.5K.

Does anyone have those specs?

Try this: https://www.steadypower.com/pages.php?pageid=133 .Also I purchased two 2000 Honda generators with the parallel kit. Give you a 4000 generator but you can load one at a time so not so heavy. I use mine around the house a lot. Also when connected together and if you just want to charge your batteries or run lights you can start either one. But when using AC you will have to run both.

Yeah, I've already got a Honda EU2200 that I've been using for years for my tire warmers and starter on my race Superbike. We may be bring the TT to the racetrack in the future, and then the current EU would be needed for those. That is why I was trying to acquire the exact loads I'm dealing with on that particular TT

Yea the starting up the 15 AC is what takes the amount of watts. I would have to say at least 4000. Also if you don’t have a good surge protector I would suggest to invest in one. I’ve seen campers messed up due to high or low voltage. https://www.progressiveindustries.net/ . I own the EMS-PT50C. They are warranted and checks your system before allowing power to your camper.

Not to hi-jack the thread, but I'm interested in this same model. How do you like it so far? Any issues? Any advice or specific things I should look at before pulling the trigger?

We just picked up our 291RK and I have the same equipment. I bought a 4500watt generator but it hasn't showed up yet. My best guess is that it should be fine but we won't know until we try!

I have a champion 3500 wat inverter. Runs on gas and propane. Ran it 21/2 days last weekend. Ran the refrigerator, and water heater on propane and ac on the generator. Could ask for a better power source, and at half the price of a honda. Check reviews. Then make a decision. Good luck.

I have a 270bh with the same air conditioning unit. I bought an Echo Bearcat 3,500 watt inverter and it runs everything fine. Starts first time every time and very quiet. Half the cost of a Honda. It’s 3 years old now and runs perfect. I also have a 100 watt solar panel which keeps the deep cycle battery fully charged on sunny days.
