Remote Control Setup

I recently found the remote control for my 2012 Sunset Trail RE30 and cannot locate the "relay module" it must sync with. Anyone know where the "relay module" is located on this unit?

I'm looking in the literature that I can find online. I do see reference to a remote on the 5th wheels. I don't see any references to one with a travel trailer.

Did you look behind the control panel?

I have a 2015 Sunset Trail Reserve (ST33FR) as well and it does not have a remote (unless the previous owner lost it).

What does your control panel look like? Can you post up a photo?

Here is my Control Panel and my remote. The back side of the Control Panel would be in the bathroom and there is nothing there? Someone said something about it being by the entertainment center, but my entertainment center is at the rear of the TT and I would not expect it to be there. I did not ask the prior owner about this remote and just happen to find it in one of the drawers. Also, the prior owner appears to have removed the electric motors on the jacks, likely due to what I read about malfunctions with the motors engaging when they should not, that could be scary if they engaged to extend while driving down the road. I would use the remote for the slide function when I am setting up just to make sure I do not hit something when extending the slide.

I found this thread.

https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink/top...ink_source=app

Looks like in this case it was below the stove or fridge.

Hopefully, that link works.

I really appreciate all the assistance regarding my issue with the remote. I have searched in all the places denoted in the posts/comments. At this point I feel the comment that the remote feature was added to the units manufactured beginning 06/2012 may be accurate. I cannot locate a manufacture date on my unit but I suspect it was before 06/2012 and someone just happened to drop in one of the new remotes, but you would have thought some quality check might have revealed that it did not belong in the unit?

I agree..

One would think that there would be some sort of wired interface to the control panel. Have you tried to remove the panel? If not, is that easy to do? It's probably just screws holding it on. I would think that there would be some really tiny wires that run to the control board. . Maybe check for the presence of those?

Is there a model number on the panel? If so, maybe you could do a search on that to see if it has a connector for this feature.

Just some thoughts.

There should be a sticker somewhere on the left side of the camper ( the side without the door). That should contain the manufacture date.

Unless it is too faded for you to see.

CORRECTION!! I thought I would place the remote back in the camper with the printed comments from these discussions for a future owner when I might sell the unit. Then I recall someone mentioning pointing the remote at the stove or fridge area. I was standing outside by the slide and the remote is working as it should. Still never found the relay module, but does not matter if it is working. Thanks folks!

On my 2013 travel trailer I have 2 drawers under the refrigerator and if you pull them out the relay is mounted inside that area
