Here's how the doctor's visit went after he showed me the x-rays. "Well, we'll immobilize it for a month, you'll come back and we'll do an MRI...then we'll rehab you for a few weeks and then determine if surgery is needed." This was my response to him..."1 month from today doc I get in my new Cruiser and I'll be leaving WI and I'll be back the last week in July, so tell me what we do now." So,he replied to me..."we'll have you back in 3 weeks, do the MRI and start rehab...then you can rehab it on your trip, if you need surgery when you come back in July we can do it then." My comment was "perhaps, or perhaps we do it in FL or TX, wherever I may be spending my 3 or 4 months this winter."

well lots of good ortho docs around the country. I can point you to some around here but the winters are too cold for a good snow birding experience.

Jim,

There are 2 that I would recommend...Natural Bridge Jellystone off Interstate 81 or Buckhorn Country store off interstate 64 near Clifton Forge Va....we have stayed at both...the country store is simple and near a state park...the jellystone is of course near Natural Bridge and the James River...better for big rigs....both are about 10 miles or so from Eagle Rock...nothing closer that I am aware of....Natural bridge is about 1 1/4 hrs from us and the other is about 2 hrs west...so let us know when you come down...maybe we can stop by for a quick hello and a cold beer...

According to the seven day forcast, next couple of days in the high 40's, then up into the 50's. That suits me fine . I'm looking to stone in a path from the driveway to the Cruiser, and I want to make it happen while the ground is a little wet and still soft.

Stan,
Thanks for the recommendations, I have a call in to Buckhorne Country, if I get in I'll message you. I will let you know the dates and the cold one's will be on...we'll sit round the fire and if there's any good WI cheese left it's all yours. Thanks for the recommendations.

Travel Well,
Jim

Southern cooking, including collard greens and okra, is the BOMB. Almost as good as smoking!

Been dewinterized since the trip to Bristol last week. Now trying to keep it heated.

Last time I was in Eagle Rock was 1975. They had a population of about 12 at that time.

Time for warm weather now...
