Rick, you weren't the only one with an adventurous ride home. I almost burned up my brakes trying to make it down Afton Mountain on 250. I tried all the tricks I knew (stopped in a pullover at the top of the mountain, started out at 25mph in a 55mph zone, alternated using prodigy boost w/ truck brakes and tried to use the engine to slow me down) but still felt like my brakes were almost gone by the bottom and I was up to 50 mph! We pulled over at the bottom of the mountain to let them cool before continuing on. Long story short, I think we might look into a silverado 2500 or an F250 when Anthony's car is paid off this summer. No more mountains until then!

I remember doing something like that with my E150 van in Death Valley pulling our 29 ft. Wilderness TT. You can never have TOO MUCH truck! BTW - mine is fixed and back in action...$161.00...not too bad! Edited by: RKamperRV

Glad it didn't cost much to repair.I wish I could get the new truck now but we are starting to house hunt and we already have a car and trailer payment tomake.Although the Armada is getting old (2004 with almost 110,000 miles) and starting to rack up some repair bills of it's own, it really has to wait until I can eliminate at least one payment. I don't want to swim in debt and besides we just put those pretty new E rated tires on it!

Rick -
Sorry to hear about your "belt" problems. Glad weren't discussing turbos or rear axles! Seriously I'm glad you made it home safely. Next time we'll talk about fishing!

Rick ..glad you made it home ok without any serious damage to you or the truck....
Anthony...you did have a choice we should have told you about I guess...either down 250 for 3 miles really steep or 7 miles on I64 half as steep...not sure which would have been best...just glad you made it down ok without major problems...do plan on the same time and place next year...and please do the ribs again but twice as many....if you are ever up in central Virginia let us know...

Thanks everyone for a great weekend. The food was great, the drinks were great but the friendship was the best of all. Sorry to hear of Rick and Anthony's car trouble. Hope to see you all again in the spring.

For those who are aware of it, Linda Young's knee replacement went well.

She is home, doing therapy.

I hope you all have a safe and happy Thanksgiving! We are staying home this year and it will be just the 3 of us since Anthony has to work on Black friday.
