'13 Patriot Cruiser TOTALED

Just got the estimate for the damage to my '13 Cruiser--$20,000. Insurance company said they will declare it totaled.
Both Susan and I loved the Cruiser, never expected this to happen.
Will shortly start a search for a replacement. New ones are out of the question. The prices are extremely high. $11,000 more than what my camper cost when I bought it.
Let you know what I come up with as a replacement.

Sorry to hear that Mark. The rallies just won't be the same without your Cruiser there. Good luck with the search for a replacement.

Thanks Dan and Kemp. This was supposed to be our retirement camper It served us well with very few and minor issues.
It's going to hard to see it towed away and harder to replace it,

Gosh, Mark, that RV has become an icon around the forum. Sorry to hear about it being totaled.
I sure hope you find a nice replacement.
I'm sure I'm not the only one that is curious about what happened.
Good luck finding a replacement.

Well, I pulled a good one. We were on our way home from our spring rally and in order to save 10 cents a gallon on gas, I pulled into a gas station to fill up. Upon leaving the station, I caught the right side of my Rv on the protective steel barrier next to the gas pumps. It bent in the slide, ripped off the rear side valence, 50 amp receptacle, the fresh water intake and the rear cap was pulled off about 10". Lifted the floor up on the inside and buckled both the inside and outside walls.
Don't know if it bent the aluminum studs or not.
.

Had to get a tow truck to lift the Rv off of the barrier since it was caught between the body of the rv and the bumper.

The rest of the ride home was very silent.

Total damage was $20,000 without knowing the damage inside the walls. . So the insurance company totaled it.

My wife and I truly loved that Rv and it will be hard to see it towed away.

Sorry to hear the news about your fine looking trailer. The good news is that no one got hurt. I can see how you might have an incident like that at a service station. We just finished a 10k mile trip to the East coast of Canada and down the Eastern seaboard. If you can find the bigger truck stops there are usually gas pumps that you can drive through with a RV, truck+trailer but there are so many more that if you can't get the outside pump and for the proper side of your TV then you have to do some fancy maneuvering to get around their lot. I was always worried I was going to snag something.

Well, you have $20k in the pot to look for a newer unit. Good luck with your search.

Even knowing that the 5th wheel was totaled, it was hard seeing it towed away. It was our perfect camper. Here yesterday, gone today.
Now the search is on for another one.
