Residential Refrigerator Pros and Cons

i don't believe Crossroads offers a residential refrigerator option in the Elevation line, but I do see it in the Carriage line and it may be in others. Wife and I are headed to the Hershey RV show and she has been doing her homework on RVs. We escaped without a new RV last year, but I feel a tugging on my wallet....

Since we made a 3400 mile round trip to Sturgis this year, we have decided we want to see more of the left side of the country. This means multiple day road trips.

Wanted to know if folks here had information or practical experience with residential RV refrigerators to share?
Many other brands offer this option. I see that they run on inverter/batteries when traveling, and electric when available but do not operate on propane. They are also much heavier than RV units. Have read on other forums that this is not the best option for long distance traveling.
Thanks in advance for any information!
Denny
