Newbie to this forum. My wife and I currently have a small pop-up that we tow with our motorcycle. We are looking at purchasing a new fifth wheel and will be heading to the closest dealer (3 hr. drive ) next week.We live in the Augusta, Georgia area. We were looking real hard at the lighter weight Heartland models, but they have no headroom in the bath/bedroom area. I'm 6'4" and need room to shower and a full length queen bed to sleep in.Several people on the RV.net Open Roads forum recommended the Crossroads Cruiser line and that this forum has some really good info and helpful members.

I've had the shorter "queen". Â*At 6'2" I can tell you the full size queen if really nice. Â*I looked at Heartland products before our purchase at the end of 2007. Â*At that time I thought the Crossroads had higher quality construction.

Be sure to let us know if you have questions.

Be sure to look at the new Crossroads construction manual that is now on their website. After that you will soon realize there is nothing else in it's price range with that kind of quality. Not many other manufacturers (if any)are willing to show you the complete construction....must be a reason.

Darn, Spinella beat me to the joke! I would buy CR again and really like our 30SK. You have a few "Issues" with any new 5er but CR really stands behind the product. Hope you find a good dealer that will carry on that tradition. Bring on the questions!

Welcome to the forum go to the dealers set in the trailers get a feel for what you want.We looked at hundreds (maybe more) of Fivers before we decided what we wanted. The heartlands were on the list.We started with weight, what the truck would haul. Then played with length.Next you worry about room,Make room for the two of you as thats who you camp with. You will always find the room for the extra people camping with you even if you have to set up a tent.We personally look like the Clampets when we go camping i have a lot of stuff and Deanna humors me.So cargo capacity was important in what We wanted for our rig. When we walked into our 30sk we knew it was the unit for us.Hope this helps you in your decision.
good luck in the search

I have a standard length queen in my Cruiser. However, I didn't feel the quality of the mattress we up to par (Only a few brands put in a nice mattress).

I bought a King Koil at a close out shop - queen sized, pillow top and individual coils.

Which dealer are you using? I got mine from Southern RV. Not overly impressed with the sales staff. We love our 29RK.Edited by: dja29RK

I think you will be very happy with a CrossRoads product. We looked at lots of different manufacturers before buying ours and nothing quite stacked up.

Chrisnan23, I should fit in well then!!!
dja29RK, Southern RV in Jonesboro is the closest dealer to me. But there is one of the units that I am interested in at Northgate RV in Ringgold (6 hr. drive).
Also, thanks everyone for the welcome!!!!
