Direct Spark Igniter Fault. It usually means the hot water heater failed to light when operating on gas. Check propane tank has fuel, check burner tube for blockages, make sure to purge gas lines by lighting stove.

Wouldn’t it have been nice to have this forum 35 years ago. Lol Correct on the gas light. Will have to turn it off and back on to try to re-light. A lot of times when you first turn the gas back on from the tank; you’ll need to light the stove tops to let the air purge out of the lines before the fridge or hot water heater will light on gas.

Kudos PapaT. I have been camping since soon after 1957 born date, with Mom and Dad and 4 sibs. My pops built our first pop up tent trailer about that time. Went 10 month Boy Scout camping every year after that from time I was 8 to about 14. All the while doing wilderness stuff at 4th and 8th lake in the ADK while becoming a 46er. I do wilderness camping, tenting with new significant other. But she choses privacy bathroom and we are now doing our 23 ft. self sustained. And I kinda like that too!

gas failure light

I had the same light in my 2014 Sunset Trail Reserve and it was that the battery connections were not tight.

Agreed. I have a 2014 ST Reserve with the same monitor board and it just did the same DSI fault. The pressure relief valve was dripping onto the thermostat connection and the corrosion blocked the voltage. Cleaned all terminals and applied dielectric grease. Runs fine now. And i exercised the pressire valve and the dripping stopped.
