2010 ram hemi w 31bh sunset trail reserve

We have a 2010 Dodge ram 1500 quad cab sport with the 5.7 hemi. we also just bought a 2012 31bh with a dry weight of 6800lbs. I was just wondering if anyones else has a dodge with a trailer similar and how the truck does for towing etc...

We have a 2011 Ram quad cab with the 5.7 Hemi and 3:55 rear end. Our TT is a 2012 ST30RE which weighs in at just over 6400 lbs. We tow in tow/haul mode and rarely have to manually select fourth gear. We typically drive with the cruise control set between 60-65 mph. We get between 11-12 mpg with no head or cross winds. Where I think you should pay close attention is with the trucks total gross combined weight (truck, trailer, stuff & people). It won't take much to exceed the total weight fully loaded. I believe our total weight is 14,000 lbs.

We also use a weight distribution hitch with sway bars. Wouldn't pull without it.

rooster, thanks for the reply. I have a dual sway setup, that works great. When i towed it home form the dealer, i had a strong crosswind the whole way and averaged about 8-9mpg. I know i will get more i just hope it's not all the time that i get this crosswind/headwind. LOL. The truck pulled it like nothing so i'm glad to know that it will definately do the job.
