Black valve not working...took panels off inside storage compartment, noticed the duct work for the heating had fallen off the floor joist. Yes fallen off. Only secured with that foil tape. No screws to hold it in place. What a f-----g joke. Well off to the hardware store. Another day of fix it right...

I think most people would be amazed at the way they throw these things together if they removed some of the panels and bottom cover and took a look around. The way the wiring and plumbing is thrown together. I had to remove the back panel of our pass thru storage one day and my wife was appalled at the way the wiring and plumbing looked. Her comment was "people would never know how bad this all looks if they didn't look for it". It is ashame for what you spend on these things....

Sad state. Now you'll get it fixed just the way you want it and it will be right and I bet there will other things that fit into the same category. I look back to all the "little" fixes I made to my rig and it makes want to keep it all the more. It's well oiled machine now and if I sold it, I wouldstart all over with a new & improved model with all the same junk and probably moreto fix and modify.

I think it wasRed Green who used to say, "If the wife can't find you handsome, at least she'll find you handy." I know it applies to me! http://www.redgreen.com/ Everything I know I learned at the Handyman Corner.

Let me get this right, you want the manufacturer of your High dollar Rushmore to bundle the wires going to the breaker panel in an orderly fashion, and to hold up your heating ductwork with straping What do you think the chance of that happening is when any place I look not in the living area of my camper has wood and medal shaveing left where they fall. Someone needs to find and use a shop vac

Let me say from experience they all are thrown together like s***t. The real bothersum part is a high dollar 5er should be painstakenly build with craftmenship. My cruiser provical, has been a great unit. I installed central vac today most looked good under stairs. I agree with the saw dust in areas, shouldn't the dealer prep this better? They get a 5 hour prep on these units. Its all about $$$$ and profits, well keep up the less then quality work and its bye bye.

Just saw your city - we lived in Pasco from 1976 to 1981. The area has changed allot. Worked at FFTF, HGP and Hanford Unit 2 ( now the Columbia Station). Still have a jar of ash from Mt. St. Helens.

We just bought a 2013 new TT. When we picked up our older 2007 on the first trip out my DW called me after using washroom and said something isn't right as the water in the toilet is hot. Sure as H-ll the lines were crossed and hot was going to toilet and not tub or sink so that was our first modification on our own as we were a long way from dealer. Looking forward to modifying our new TT when we pick it up next month.
Good luck and happy camping this year!

I too have a new Rushmore (Washington) and have been fixing issues also. Some of my findings were, no air baffles installed in refer areas, also the tops of theexhaust pipes for the refers were blocked off with insulation.
Poor air flow from rear air conditioner. This issue is addressed in a CR's Technical Service Bulliten. When they mounted the air unit, they did not seal the plennum/return air area properly. This allows very little air to be sucked in through the air return vents because it was just sucking air in from under the rest of the roof area. What a shame that that there is so little pride in workmanship and no quality assurrance.

I had a very good mobile RV tech work on my unit to correct these issues. CR customer support was good to deal with, But! it is ashame that these issues happen.

Lastly, I love this forum. as you can learn so much. I too have noticed low heat in bedroom. When I get my basement cleared out some I will remove panels to see if my ducting has fallen off too.

Travel Safe, Jim

Jim, on the heat issue you might also check your heating unit and make sure none of the blanks for extra ducts have fallen off (if your unit has any spares). I had them fall off on our old Cruiser and our current unit until I put aluminum AC/Heating tape on the blanks. I also installed adjustable floor registers so we can direct the air flow to the areas we want it.

We put a directional vent cover on floor by the fuse box in the kitchen area. Fuse box was getting really warm. Good or bad, not sure. Just too warm for us.

I understand that if you change out your interior lights to LED's that the fan on the inverter hardly comes on due to using less amps.

There is good info on LED's in the improvement section of this forum. One fellow found the lights on ebay for about 2.70 ea rather than 6-8 $ ea. at local companies.

I will keep you posted after I change mine out.

Assoon as I get to our next long term destination I will empty the basement and check the heating lines.
My latest issue with my unit is, I had the bigfoot leveling system added to my unit. My dealer did not explain how the strong arm support system worked, I saw some extra hardware in my manual bag, but I had no idea where it went. Now , after some research I know where the T handles are to be used.

Once I get all of this figured out I will have a great unit!

Jim
