Looking at possibly trading up from my CF285RL to the CF305SK. It's a new 2013 model. Any comments thought, good, bad, etc about the particular model and year???

Cant comment on the 2013. We have a 2011 changes have been minor. Great floorplan that is great for us that enjoy cooking. The SK patriot has some nice upgrades. Get the double pane windows if you can they are a great addition. Best of luck.

We have 2013 305SK and have been very happy overall with it. One thing we don't like is that the 2 recliners in the rear don't fit across the back when the 2 slides come in. We have to lay the one nearest the living room slide on its side so that the slide can come in without really rubbing on the chair.

We really like our 30skp. My only comment on the newer 305skp is concern about the schwintek slide that I believe is used on the bedroom slide. I have read of to many problems with them. I like the old style actuator/rack and pinion mechanisms.

We have a 2011 but was built in fall of 2010 so we have R & P type with all that I have read. I am happy to have it.

The 2013 305sk doesn't have any Schwintek slides. All 3 work fine

Thanks VERY much. I forgot to look at that the other day and had it on my list to check. We're still a ways apart on price but maybe it can be worked out.

We just got back from a 3 week trip in our 2013 305SK and had a great time. We really like the floor plan, except for the fact that you have to rearrange the furniture to close the slides. I put glides under the recliners and the sofa, it makes them a lot easier to rearrange. When we are camped for more than 1 night we swap the location of the recliners and the sofa because it makes for much better TV viewing.

We do not have A/C in the bedroom and the vent in there has no fan so I have added a TurboMaxx fan.

Glad to hear some units don't have the schwintek slides. I think they are just a cheap, unreliable system. Sometimes cost cutting goes to far and ruins the product.

Berniross, we also have a 2013 305SK and also have to rearrange the furniture to close the slides. We lay one chair on its side. Just curious how you do yours. Always looking for a more efficient way to do this.

Retired02, we do it the same way, one chair stays in back with its back to the side wall the other lays on its side. I did try it once putting one in the open space in the center, but it wasn't as stable. The way we do it now we don't have to strap anything down. I did replace the small rubber feet on the recliners with round slides. We have two lazy-boy recliners in the house that will fit great in the RV so we are planning to use them in the RV when we replace them.

I have a 2013 305SKP and we love it so far. Been out on four trips so far with it and have had zero issues. The 305SK does't have the Schwintek slides. We had a problem with the recliners hitting the slide also, we choose to replace the recliners with La-Z-Boy recliners that fit with room to spare. We also replaced the sofa with a La-Z-Boy sleeper. The sleeper sofa that came with the camper, as far as we were concerned was junk. This is our second SK we had a 2007 (no problems) that we traded in for our new 2013. Love them both.

Do you have the model number of the chairs and sofa you bought to replace factory issue? We're thinking of replacing ours at some point also.

Not to hijack your thread, but the Cruiser CF345RF doesn't have Schwintek slides on any of the three either. One of the reasons we bought it. All of our slides work excellent so far - have had them in and out 18 or more times - not a lot yet, but the older slide technology seems to be much more reliable.

We are, however, already looking to upgrade the recliners so interested to see what people are getting.

Retired02 The following is what I got from La-Z-Boy to replace original furniture.

(1) Diana Supreme Comfort Full Sleeper (style number 500) This sleeper is 5inches wider than the CR issue sleeper. So measure if you have the booth dinette. I have free standing table & chairs. So no problem.

(2)Harbor Town Reclina-Way Recliner (style number 532) This is the recliner I bought. It looks to be not as comfortable as some of the bigger recliners, but it is very comfortable. BE AWARE La-Z--Boy has two other versions of this same recliner, with almost the same name. The one I mentioned above is the one you want for your camper. It has an all medal frame as opposed to wood frame and also can be set closer to the wall in upright position and will not hit wall when reclined. The other two need a farther distance from the wall to recline.

La-Z-Boy MADE IN AMERICA

Sorry for the Hi Jack

Well I started this post and will add that along about Friday afternoon that info could be valuable.

Went over to the dealer to pick mine up after a repair and talked some more about the 305SK. Interesting thing. It's a 2013 but built in 04/2012. By it being built then it has the 2/5 year warranty. Last of them. That and when the dealer sweetened the deal with a BR AC it made up my mind for me. DW even agreed. We are busily trying to find boxes to unload the "old" one and get ready for the "new" one. Since I just bought new tires in June I'm keeping them, we're going to do a swap. He gets new tires for a used RV and I keep my new ones, same rims on both.

We're kinda excited.

While I'm there we are impressed with the dealer. I had a problem with the black tank valve not closing all the way. Crossroads stepped up and agreed to warranty it. I took it in last Tuesday and they told me about a week. That surprised me being used to 2-3 week waits but they called today with mixed news. It was ready but it was a paper towel stuck in the valve and didn't believe CR would warranty my (someones) mistake and I agreed, gritted my teeth, and asked what it was going to cost me.
1 hour labor, $90. They removed the membrane, disassembled the valve (even took pictures), cleaned it, and put it all back together for $90. I was floored to say the least.

That's when I decided I liked this dealer and started talking more about the 305 we looked at and bought it.

Snoopying

Clif,

Sounds like you will enjoy the new rig. Rather than using boxes to move, just pull the two units door-to-door and gets some friends to hand off items between them.
