I actually uploaded the Schwintek Manuals earlier this summer so I am very aware of them.

I have read other places that they did away with the screws in later models. Could that be so?

Anyway regardless of the screws if I put screwdriver in from outside under the motor and pry up is that all that is needed to release the gears on the slide? The videos and manuals make it look all so simple, which in reality isnt so.
If you pull back the rubber seal on the outside you should see the motor and if there is a screw in the side
Have not heard about no screw, it holds the motor down inn the worm gear, without something to hold it down it could work its way up uncoupling the drive

Rhodesd, there is a screw in the very bottom end of the bulb seal. It is inside the bulb, just pry it up a little to get at it. Remove that screw and slide the bulb seal down about four inches, the motor screw is hidden behind the bulb seal.

On my 2013 they calked everything including the bulbseals., so one has to cut the hard caulking to get bulb seal out at the top where you have to pull it out a bit to see screw.
