update

Well I took took the trailer to the dealership to resolve the leaking gearbox situation and bubbled roof.
Here is where i am at, Bal shipped me thee drip tray. Actually i got it within 2 days of speaking to them, great service. I got it to the dealer who somehow determined that it wouldn't work because it would get crushed when the slide was fully extended. However there is a gearbox that has a built in drip tray that will work. So far so good.....Now I really want to keep my trailer original so I wanted the roof fabric replaced too....$4000. Why because they say the whole slide has to be removed to replace the fabric. I don't necessarily believe that but that's where I'm at today. If anyone can verify whether the side has to be completely removed to replace the roof fabric I'd appreciate it.

Something doesn't sound right. The drip trays fit directly under the gear box. The slide can't contact the drip tray, otherwise it would contact the gear box.

You might take a look at this new thread I started on this same topic, there are photos and a video.

Given all the modifications and repairs I've had to make to my trailer in the past 5 years (2018 model), if I returned everything back to original, I'd go broke. I just figured this up about a week ago; So far I've spent $5,800 in parts. At $125/hour labor (what the dealer charges), I'd be out $18,000 in maintenance and repair. Not to mention $11,000 flooring & labor to replace the water damaged flooring that was covered by insurance.

Anyway, the drip trays will not contact the facia board when the slide it put out.

bubble update

Things are progressing on the leaking gear case caused bubbles on slide on my '18 222rb.
After the Dealer determined that the drip tray supplied by Bal wouldn't work on my unit, Bal sent a complete motor and gear case with a built in drip tray. Keystone has agreed to pay to have the new motor/gear case installed and to patch the roof with eternabond. (not exactly happy with the patch but refuse to spend 4 grand to have the roof fabric replaced.) The Dealer's service writer has never heard of eternabond and is charging me $300 to disengage the slide topper. Both things are kind of red flags for me but i need this addressed.

Tell the dealer to look on their store's shelf or on Amazon to see what Eternabond is. It is the Gold Standard for quick and permanent repairs.

Mark5w, I know, and that is the scary part. If the Service Writer isn't familiar with the product and the Service Person that he talked to isn't familiar with it, then I just wonder how the repair will turn out. It sure doesn't lend itself to having a high level of confidence in this operation.
