We just noticed that the fans on the converter are not coming on and haven't been for some time now, we guess. The converter seems to be working as all lights, fans, refrigerator, etc. are working fine. I've checked all the 12V fuses and they are all good. Any ideas?

The fans only come on when the converter is working hard to charge the battery. If the battery is fully charged, you may not need the fan. BTW, your vacation blog has been very informative. Welcome home (almost!).
You should be able to turn on several lights and items that use DC and the fan come on. My converter has a verable fan that changes speed as load is applied.
As FB1965 said, the more you load it the faster the fan should turn. We can hear oursget a little louder as we turn more things onand it is put under more load. Edited by: Hunter11
