So destroyed it's ''almost'' funny

Seen this pic on Facebook of a trailer tire/rim/hub so hot and destroyed I thought I'd share it on here. That hub assembly is so cooked it's almost funny, and surprised and dam lucky the trailer isn't on fire.

Thats why you check the oil level during your pre trip inspection. The next step after that is a new axle!

I'm not positive, but I think if that was my rig, I'd be quite skeptical even with that axle. I be replacing the complete axle, bearing, brake assembly, drum, tire and rim. Everything looks so hot that I'd be afraid things might have got brittle. Plus there's a huge probability that race turned itself on that axle side that its toast anyways, aside from the race being turned/welded on.

That's what i ment by new axle. There will be no way to "fix" that one. First thing to replace is the stearing wheel holder and hire a driver.

It's hard to believe that thing could get that hot and there not be a fire.
Plus, that he would have time to think about getting a picture while it was still glowing.
