Too much grease?

I just replaced all 4 main tires yesterday on our recently purchased 2013 ST32FR. While the rims were off I decided to inspect the bearings before we leave for our maiden voyage on Monday.

When I popped off the caps, I noticed that they are filled with grease. But is this TOO much grease (if there’s such a thing)?

As long as they haven’t blown out the rear seal and got to your brakes. You’ll have to pull the hub off to see. If they haven’t I would just wipe off excess. That’s why I won’t use the EZ-lube fittings anymore. If they have blown the rear seal and got to the brakes like mine did. I had to replace all four. And they were cheeper to purchase the complete brake assembly’s through etrailer.com.

Congratulations. If it was me and I didn't know when the bearings had been serviced I would do them before going too far though. As you mention there is no shortage of grease visible.

Thanks for the advice DzlDon... Luckily, the campground we’re staying at is only 15 miles from our house. As for the bearings, They all seem to be in great shape and the grease looks/feels relatively recent. It doesn’t look old or well used and it feels nice and smooth, no grittiness or anything (it looks like new grease... it’s been a long day)
