Is it necessary to put anti freeze in the storage tanks?

IMO - no. Never put it in the fresh water tank. When you winterize the grey and black tanks should be empty. As you install the anti-freeze into the water lines, you want some to go into the sinks/shower/toilets to fill the P-traps. This will also allow some into the grey/black tanks and should run down to the back side of the gate valves. That's really all you need.
