It was hard to find one. Three were sold out from under us or they used the old bait and switch saying they had one on the lot only to find out they had already sold it or didn’t actually have one on the lot. I ended up purchasing one that was in transit from the factory. So, only have seen pictures and window stickers if the one I purchased. I did get to see a black one, but that was my last option color. Just to hard to keep clean. IMO. It arrives tomorrow.

So, my truck was delivered today. I’m a little worried due to how high the side bed rails are. On my 2009 Chevrolet the top of the bed rails were 57” from the ground to the top of the bed rails at the rear. On the new truck it’s 59 1/2” to the top rail at the rear. I can’t hookup due to my 5er is up on jacks waiting for my brake assembly’s and rear bearing seals to arrive for repairs. I know I have adjustments on my Reese hitch and on the 5er front hitch. Don’t want to have to be towing with the front to high. So, until my stuff gets in and I can finish the repairs I’ll just have to worry I guess. Nice truck though.

Just curious the 4.10 was standard then it changed to the 3.73 with the 4.10 optional. Did not know what the new ones have. Are you sure it is a 5.20 ratio?

Glad you finally got it. And I know what you mean about the height, they are going crazy with how high they are making them. You definitely need running boards to even climb into the cab. I am pretty sure they put on the bumper and side steps because there was other way to get into the bed.

Good news!

Well I couldn’t stand to wait until my brakes and seals come in next week. So, today I put all the old stuff back together and mounted the wheels and got everything off the jacks. I hooked up to the new truck. I pulled it just up the road where it’s level (rural two lane road). I’m sitting 23” in the rear of the 5er and 27” at the front of the 5er. I have 6 1/2” between the bottom of the front Of the 5er to the bed rails. So, I can live with 4” low in the rear. I actually have more clearance on the new truck than I did my 2009 truck. Here’s a couple of pictures.

I ordered running boards yesterday.

Update on the new truck. Towing!

Took the new truck on its maiden voyage this week. Went up into Virginia to Grayson Highlands State Park. I had noticed previously on my 2009 2500HD that several sections were a struggle to pull; gas peddle to the floor. Not sure if it was a transmission or some computerized gizmo that was messing up. Anyway, new truck pulled like a dream. So smooth and carefree. Very happy with the 2020 Chevrolet 2500hd Custom!

Glad to hear it! Mine is scheduled to be built next week. My fingers are crossed as I have been without a truck since March. Can't wait to see how it pulls with the Duramax and 10 speed Allison.

Oh with the Duramax and 10 speed Allison it will pull even better than mine. You won’t be disappointed. I didn’t want to pay the price for the Duramax and 10 speed Allison transmission. However, my 5er is only 7800 Lbs unloaded.
