I have a 2007 CR Cruiser31RL travel trailer and I want to add a slide topper to it but there looks to be only an inch gap from the top of the slide to the bottom of the gutter.
Is that enough room to mount the awning rail for the topper?
Do any of y'all have the same trailer with a topper that you can snap a picture of the mounting.
Thanks

I have a 2012 Cruiser 335SS fifth wheel, and while down in Florida this winter I had a local RV Technician who installs slide toppers come and give me an estimate. This gent lives in our park and is very highly thought of. He does excellent work and it sure is nice to have someone like that "handy".
He recommended that I not put toppers on for the very reason you mention in your post. He said they would be too flat, and cause me no end of grief. I didn't have them installed.

I have 3 toppers on our 2012 CF335SS. Installed before I took delivery - they got the "parts" from the factory. I have not had any issues and have been in some pretty heavy wind and rain - even a little ice in the spring.

Thanks for the feedback.
I am thinking if I replace the gutter with a gutter that has a built in awning rail like the curbside does it will increase the angle slightly and I will not have to drill additional holes in the rig for the topper.

I have the toppers on our unit have not had any trouble with them, would not be with out. Caution do not stand by them after a rain storn, and have the wife bring in the slide

In a semi-related question...does anyone put slide toppers over a slide that resides under the awning? My instinct is to not waste my money. We'll probably have our awning out the vast majority of the time. But just thought I'd get a few other opinions.

We're taking delivery of our Sunset Trails st28bh in a week or so.

Thanks!

Amy,
I would not waste the money installing a slide topper over the kitchen slide, as it is covered by the awning. I also noticed my ST28BH has the gutters with awning rails, so installing a slide topper over the larger livingroom slide should be fairly easy.

When we order ours the factory would not put it on for the same reason. Dealer installed it for us and we have had no problems. Would not be without one.
